  • Today, we are announcing the Co-Winner for the Fall/Winter Elk Grove High School Pizza Competition that Frato’s holds every semester with the Culinary Students of Mrs. Erin Ludewig.  This pizza contest win is something special.  It doubles as an amazing local inspirational story.  This story encompasses everything Frato’s had hoped for when starting this pizza competition at Elk Grove High School in 2016.  The important lesson is that despite any challenges you may face, continue to press forward and give it your best effort.  Stay focused, work smart and work hard.  Do not let challenges or a negative mindset hold you back. Instead, worry about what you can control, not what you cannot.  If you have the right attitude, you will find success more often than not.

    Michael, from Elk Grove High School and District 214’s Transition Program, has a hearing impairment and learning challenges.  For some, that might be enough to deflate their enthusiasm and work ethic by giving up early.  For Michael, he does not worry about that.  He presses forward with enthusiasm and passion towards his accomplishments.  He is a great role model without realizing he is. 

    This unique pizza he made (description below) was not only built strategically for appearance but is also a fun concoction where all the flavors blend well.  We can all learn something from Michael.  Ignore challenges and instead, focus on what you can control.  We expect big things to come in Michael’s future.  Don’t be surprised when you see something special from him down the road.

    Michael’s Pizza Slice will be available on Saturday, January 13th as the Specialty Slice of the Day.  His pizza will make the menu in February for 6 months along with the other winners Grace & Christian!  Congrats to all the Winners!  Videos of each pizza will be coming soon!
